Membership & Benefits

Women in Housing & Finance (WHF) is a premiere non-partisan, nonprofit forum for business and policy experts to share their views and insights. Since 1979, WHF has provided outstanding opportunities to learn about housing and financial services developments, network with other professionals in the field, and meet with regulators and other government officials.

WHF members are professionals dedicated to the fields of housing and financial services. There are approximately 500 members, including senior professionals from federal and state regulatory agencies, private industry, law and consulting firms, Congressional staff, academia, government-sponsored enterprises, nonprofits, trade associations, and the national press.

Our members are leaders in decision-making, strategy, law, communications, and policy development for housing and financial services. Every WHF event is an opportunity to network with other senior professionals and to meet and learn from industry executives and top policymakers.

We also welcome members who are interested in joining these fields. The WHF Board and leadership team strive to educate new members about developments and opportunities in housing and financial services.  We recognize that there have been rapid changes in recent years and many early career and other professionals are interested in learning more. 

Career Enhancement

WHF actively promotes the professional enrichment of its members while retaining a focus on the advancement of women in the fields of housing and financial services. WHF offers opportunities for career growth through education, networking, and professional development.
We provide members with access to a unique and influential network of leaders who are shaping our housing and financial services policy now and into the future. WHF has a long tradition of hosting policy decision makers. Our monthly public policy lunches, receptions, special tributes, free brown bag lunches, and other flagship events feature heads of housing and finance regulatory agencies, senior executives from financial institutions, staff from regulatory agencies responsible for drafting and implementing regulations, staff from the Senate Banking and House Financial Services Committees, and members of Congress.
Members are a diverse group of approximately 500 women and men who are senior professionals from federal and state regulatory agencies, private industry, law and consulting firms, Congressional staff, academia, government-sponsored enterprises, nonprofits, trade associations, and the national press.  

Member Only Benefits
Only members can attend the free “off-the-record” brown bag lunches and access the membership directory.  WHF also invites members to share information about their career developments and will post it on the WHF website.  Members and nonmembers are invited to provide information about current professional opportunities.  WHF will post them in a job bank on the website and only WHF members have access to this information.  For more information about these benefits, please visit the Members Area page.

WHF Foundation
The WHF Foundation focuses on promoting financial literacy.  The Foundation commits volunteer and financial resources to help women and families in the Washington, DC metropolitan area through charitable and educational services.    Volunteers serve as microbusiness mentors for the Arlington-Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless and teach financial literacy to youth ages 9-18 through Operation HOPE.  If you would like to support the Foundation but the current volunteer opportunities do not match your schedule, please consider a contribution.  For more information, please visit the About the WHF Foundation page.
